Reintegration and Aftercare

Reintegration and aftercare supports people to rebuild stability after treatment, crisis care, or incarceration. It focuses on resilience-building and economic
empowerment through skills development, livelihood opportunities, and employment pathways. A flagship initiative is the Reintegration and Aftercare Centre at
Yarju, Wangdue Phodrang, subsumed under the BRAVE Programme launched by Her Majesty on 6 October 2025.

The PEMA Approach

Reintegration as Recovery

Treat reintegration as part of recovery, not an add-on after
treatment ends.

Structured Transition

Create structured transition support (housing, routines, peer support, productive engagement).

Skills and Livelihoods

Use skills and livelihood pathways to reduce relapse and
reoffending risk.

Cross-Agency Coordination

Coordinate with Royal Bhutan Police, relevant ministries, and partners for continuity.
